In February 2006, it was announced that Al's 1994 four-disc boxed set Permanent Record: Al In The Box had gone out of print after Volcano Entertainment was unable to locate the original packaging and booklet artwork to print more copies. Remaining copies are quickly disappearing from online stores, so please find below a list of the last few stores that still claim to carry the box set.

The following stores still list the set on their web sites but note it as being on order in a variety of ways. We don't want you to get your hopes up, but if you don't mind being patient and probably ultimately disappointed, it wouldn't be a bad idea to try to order the set from these sites and see what they tell you. The note below the store name is the current status of the set as listed on their web site.

And of course, with the boxed set now out of print, you can try your luck with web sites that allow third party sellers to offer up their own copies. But do note that such copies are often used and the purchase will not be counted toward the compilation's sales tally. Don't be afraid to check out a seller's feedback rating or ask them a question about an item beforehand.
