"Weird Al used music videos brilliantly. His parodies of both Michael Jackson and Madonna were even more memorable than the original videos themselves." |

Thank God for Stormtroopers!
Sure, they work for the bad guys, they often bonk their heads on doors, they're easily distracted by pings on a distant wall, they can be fooled into believing anything with a simple wave of a hand, and Ewoks have mercilessly used their prized helmets for the sake of off-key percussion...but if you're ever in a pinch, you can count on them!
For the next three shows on Al's tour, members of the Central Garrison division of the 501st Legion will be helping out with the petition. For those of you who are in the dark about it, the 501st is the premier Star Wars costuming fan group, with chapters all over the world. Put together by volunteers, they devote a great of their time and hard work to make appearances at events in costume (most notably as Stormtroopers), often working with charities. For the last several weeks on Al's tour, local chapters have been recruited to appear on stage during "The Saga Begins." We are thrilled to have the Central Garrison on board to help us out with these next few shows!
Tonight's concert is in Mitchell, South Dakota, where Al is playing the Corn Palace Festival. Look for members of the 501st before the show (no, they won't be in costume) and sign the petition!
In other campaign news, this week we have finally blown past the 5,000 mark on our site's official signature counter!!! This is half of this year's goal, and we are continually picking up momentum with each upcoming concert. We thank everyone who has helped get us this far!
But we're not done yet! We still have a ways to go, and we need volunteers at every show pitching in. As of August 24, the following shows still need volunteers....
August 30 Pueblo, CO Colorado State Fair
August 31 Denver, CO Coors Amphitheatre
September 1 Grand Junction, CO Avalon Theatre
September 7 Salt Lake City, UT Utah State Fair
September 8 Idaho Falls, ID Idaho Falls Civic Auditorium (show #1,000)

September 11 Victoria, BC CAN Royal Theatre
September 13 Spokane, WA Spokane County Fair & Expo
September 19 New Bedford, MA Zeiterion Theatre
September 21 Ledyard, CT Foxwoods Resort Casino
October 3 Medicine Hat, AB Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre

October 20 Los Angeles, CA Greek Theatre
If you are going to ANY of the above concerts and want to volunteer, contact us today! Each new concert that gets covered will help us greatly. To use an appropriate Star Wars analogy, we can easily meet our goal if we do this ship-to-ship.
