"Weird Al used music videos brilliantly. His parodies of both Michael Jackson and Madonna were even more memorable than the original videos themselves."

Make the Rock Hall Weird Update Blog

Entry for September 3, 2020

It's September! We're now in the fifth month of our massive U.S. petition tour!

Our petition tour is also back in California tonight for the first time since mid-July, when there was some unpleasantness at the Orange County Fair that we'll go into in detail later this week. We're in the state's capital tonight, though, where surely the most ridiculous governor in California history will want to show his support for Al. If you're in the area and are going to the California State Fair tonight to see Al, be on the lookout for jerAL and ask her to sign the petition!

Later this week in Idaho Falls, Al and Bermuda will be celebrating their 1,000th live performance. We would love to have a volunteer with the petition at this historic show...just sayin'.

Speaking of which, as always, we need more people to volunteer for more shows. As of September 3, the following shows are still unrepresented....

September 7 Salt Lake City, UT Utah State Fair
September 8 Idaho Falls, ID Idaho Falls Civic Auditorium (show #1,000!)
September 9 Bozeman, MT Gallatin County Fairgrounds
September 11 Victoria, BC CAN Royal Theatre
September 13 Spokane, WA Spokane County Fair & Expo
September 19 New Bedford, MA Zeiterion Theatre
September 21 Ledyard, CT Foxwoods Resort Casino
October 3 Medicine Hat, AB Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre
October 4 Lethbridge, AB ENMAX Centre
October 5 Lewiston, ID Nez Perce County Fairgrounds
October 6 Yakima, WA Central Washington State Fair
October 9 San Luis Obispo, CA Christopher Cohan Performing Arts Center
October 11 Fresno, CA The Big Fresno Fair
October 13 San Diego, CA House of Blues
October 16 Phoenix, AZ Arizona State Fair
October 17 Albuquerque, NM Santa Ana Star Center
October 20 Los Angeles, CA Greek Theatre

So please, if you're going to any of the above shows and want to help us out, let us know!

Here's wishing everyone a safe and happy Labor Day, our favorite anti-capitalism holiday that's been uncomfortably twisted into something quasi-patriotic!
