"Weird Al used music videos brilliantly. His parodies of both Michael Jackson and Madonna were even more memorable than the original videos themselves." |

Make the Rock Hall Weird Update Blog
We are quickly nearing the end of one of the busiest months of this year's campaign, and we're ending it in style, baby! Traditionally the Rock Hall induction ballot goes out in September, and apparently the nominating committee has already met for the year, so it seems as if we'll soon see whether or not our effort this year has grabbed their attention at all, even if we didn't have a finished petition to deliver just yet.
We will most definitely reach our goal of 10,000 signatures, no question. But we'd like to be able to do it sooner rather than later. We are about four thousand signatures short right now, so it is critical that everyone pitch in to help out now. Haven't volunteered for a concert yet? Do it now. Need to ask for a page to pass around among family and friends? Do it now. Want to pass on a lead to us about a potential celebrity signer? Do it now. Want to spread the word on your web site, MySpace, or blog? Do it now! It's crunch time, gang!
Tonight we are back in that most supportive of states, Michigan! Al will be doing his final two Michigan shows on this tour this week, and we'll have folks at both concerts. First he's going to stop in Jackson at the George E. Potter Center at Jackson Community College. We were able to get a nice bit of press this weekend in regard to this show, so if you're going tonight be sure to look for either Patti, Nancy, Kari, or kaffy© and sign the petition!
Tomorrow's show will be in Benton Harbor at Lake Michigan College's Mendel Center. The folks at the college have been more than welcoming to us, and we greatly appreciate their help. If you live anywhere on the lakefront and are even thinking about going to the show, please do so. You'll have a blast. Click here to order tickets!
Speaking of concerts, there are just a handful left on this tour. The following October concerts all need volunteers....
October 3 Medicine Hat, AB Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre
October 4 Lethbridge, AB ENMAX Centre
October 5 Lewiston, ID Nez Perce County Fairgrounds
October 6 Yakima, WA Central Washington State Fair
October 7 Napavine, WA Napavine Amphitheater
October 9 San Luis Obispo, CA Christopher Cohan Performing Arts Center
October 11 Fresno, CA The Big Fresno Fair
October 13 San Diego, CA House of Blues
October 16 Phoenix, AZ Arizona State Fair
October 17 Albuquerque, NM Santa Ana Star Center
October 20 Los Angeles, CA Greek Theatre
We need your help, so if you're going to any of these shows, please let us know!
Also, in early October we'll have a new, very freakin' cool campaign product available for sale in our popular "Yankovic '08" store...just in time for the November elections. Did someone say "yard signs?!?" Stay tuned!
And if anyone knows how to capture streaming video off a web site, please contact us as soon as possible.
