"Weird Al used music videos brilliantly. His parodies of both Michael Jackson and Madonna were even more memorable than the original videos themselves."

Entry for October 20, 2020

This really is it this time! The final concert on Al's Straight Outta Lynwood Tour, and the final stop on our grand international petition tour!

After sixty-one concerts, it all comes down to tonight. We sincerely want to thank everyone who has volunteered and helped out with this year's campaign. We still have a lot of work to do, but the fact that we were able to pull off this year's petition drive so successfully is nothing short of incredible. We want to thank the fans who volunteered, the venues that allowed us to roam around on their grounds, the reporters and deejays who helped get the word out, and of course Al, his band, and his management for putting up with us and helping us out from time to time.

The tour's finale is in none other than Los Angeles, also making this Al's official "hometown" show on this tour. And what better place would there be than the historic Greek Theatre? If you're going to the show tonight, look for two of this petition tour's volunteer veterans, Nancy (albinodwarf27) and kaffy©.

Speaking of the petition, we have rocketed past the 7,000-signature mark on the official counter on our web site. Thank you so much to everyone who has signed it so far! We're getting close!!

Also, there seems to be a problem with our Yankovic '08 shop, specifically our new yard signs are not showing up for whatever reason. We apologize for this error, and we're currently working on trying to fix it. In the meantime, here is the direct link to the product page. The new ad on our web site will take you there as well.

Finally, voting will end very soon in the Plain Dealer Rock Hall readers poll...October 22, specifically. We thank everyone so far who has let us know that they've voted. For the last two years the paper would never reveal exact vote tallies, only to say "more than 250 ballots were cast" each time (same exact phrase word-for-word!) and more or less mention the concept of write-in votes only in passing. Even if, let's say, 300 votes had been cast this year, then already 10 percent of them had been cast for Al, which, considering there are already nine official choices before the write-in votes even come into question, is quite impressive for such a poll...so it will be quite interesting to see who ends up being the "winner."

Nevertheless, you have until Monday to vote for Al!

Congratulations to Al and the band on a wonderful, history-making tour!!!
