"Weird Al used music videos brilliantly. His parodies of both Michael Jackson and Madonna were even more memorable than the original videos themselves."

Make the Rock Hall Weird Update Blog

Entry for November 5, 2020

You didn't think our campaign was going anywhere, did you?

As we still wait for the Plain Dealer to copy-and-paste the annual vague results of its Rock Hall readers poll, we have some incredible petition news to share!

First, as one can see on our main web site, we are now past the 8,000-signature mark in our petition! We're not done yet, but we nevertheless sincerely thank everyone who has helped out so far!

We also want to announce our two latest awesome celebrity signers. We are incredibly proud and delighted to bring you this news, as both signers had been a long time coming.

One is none other than Austin Powers star, Buffy the Vampire Slayer regular, and Robot Chicken co-creator Seth Green! In the last year Seth has needed no introduction to Al fans, making a cameo in the "White & Nerdy" video, co-producing the "Weasel Stomping Day" video, interviewing Al on MySpace, and most recently appearing on Al's episode of Biography. We are thrilled beyond words to have Seth on board, and we thank him profusely for signing the petition. If you would like to thank Seth yourself, you can always order Robot Chicken Season Two on DVD (featuring the episode Al guest-starred in...and commentary from the man himself!).

Our other latest celebrity signer is no stranger to "geek" culture, as he's Comedians of Comedy star Brian Posehn! In addition to having a recurring role on Just Shoot Me and appearing in such theatrical hits as The Devil's Rejects and this summer's underrated Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Brian also recently made a name for himself with the daffy, satirical music video "Metal by Numbers." We are also giddy like schoolchildren to have Brian helping us out, and you can thank him by ordering his new live stand-up album, Live In: Nerd Rage.

What's that, you say? You haven't signed the petition yet and still want to? Well, just contact us through the web site and we'll get you all set up!
