NOTES & TRIVIA |
"Another One Rides The Bus" is the first performance by Al with Jon "Bermuda" Schwartz, who has been Al's drummer/percussionist ever since.
Al produced the E.P. himself. The catalog number is his old street address (3626 Burton Ave.) growing up in Lynwood, California.
"Another One Rides The Bus" is the only song from the E.P. that was not re-recorded for Al's debut album.
The E.P. version of "Happy Birthday" would later be made available on Permanent Record: Al In The Box.
The T.K. single debuted at #105 on Billboard's "Bubbling Under" singles chart on March 21, 1981, marking not only Al's first Billboard chart appearance but also his best chart debut for a single until 1983. It would climb up just one position a week later before disappearing from the chart completely.
Even though Scotti Bros. chose not to include the single versions of "Gotta Boogie" and "Mr. Frump In The Iron Lung" on Permanent Record, neither are very hard to find nowadays. "Boogie" was rereleased in mid-2005 on Dr. Demento's Basement Tapes #13, a CD only available to members of The Demento Society. "Mr. Frump," meanwhile, is readily available on Dave Rossi's "Weird Al" Yankovic Rarities #7 trade bootleg.
