The promo single is the only "Weird Al" Yankovic release ever issued on a picture disc. The front of the picture disc featured the same design as the picture sleeve (see above). The b-side of the disc featured the cover of the Dare To Be Stupid album.

In Mexico, a 12" version of the single was released on red vinyl. The flipside was changed to "Girls Just Want To Have Lunch."

Debuted at #74 in Billboard on June 22, 1985. It would reach its peak position three weeks later. It would eventually stay on the "Hot 100" for eight weeks. It would be the final Al single to chart until 1988.

A 1996 performance of the live "Truth or Dare" version of "Like A Surgeon" has been played on The Dr. Demento Show a couple of times and is available on the broadcast CDs of those shows. The unique live version (later taken from a 1999 concert) was finally officially released on the "Weird Al" Yankovic Live! video/DVD.

To find out about the two reissue singles listed above, check out the Notes in "Eat It". It's the same thing and it's too boring to repeat.
